Planable is a cloud-based social media management platform built around content planning, collaboration and approvals. It gives agencies, brands and multi-location teams a shared workspace for drafting, reviewing, scheduling and publishing content.
The platform supports social posts as well as broader marketing content, including blog content, newsletters, press releases and campaign briefs. Planable was founded in 2016 by Xenia Muntean, Nicu Gudumac and Vlad Caluș. The company joined SE Ranking in 2025.
Planable supports Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and Google Business Profile. Account support varies by network, and Facebook personal profiles aren’t supported for publishing.
Planable provides feed, calendar, grid and list views for organizing content. Grid view supports visual Instagram planning, while calendar and list views support broader campaign coordination and bulk actions.
Teams can create grouped posts, tailor content for individual networks, edit images and videos, manage media assets, add labels and review version history. The composer supports platform-specific formats such as carousels, stories, reels, videos, GIFs and links where supported.
Approval workflows include optional and required approvals. Enterprise supports multi-level approval chains. Comments, suggestions, annotations, internal notes and guest sharing support collaboration with clients and external stakeholders.
Planable AI can generate captions, rewrite copy, suggest hashtags, extract captions from visual media and suggest posts based on previous content. Analytics and Social Inbox are available as paid add-ons, while the Public API is available on Pro and Enterprise.
Planable offers a free allowance of 50 total posts. The allowance has no time limit and does not require a credit card, but the limit does not reset after posts are deleted.
The Basic plan starts at $33 per workspace per month and includes 60 posts, four social pages and unlimited users. Pro starts at $49 per workspace per month and includes 150 posts, ten social pages, additional approval options and the Public API.
Enterprise uses custom pricing and adds unlimited posts, multi-level approvals, unlimited campaigns, SSO, a dedicated account manager and expanded administrative options. Analytics and Social Inbox are separate paid add-ons.
Pros: Planable offers a clear visual workflow for drafting, feedback and approval. It supports multiple social networks and mobile apps. Its free allowance is not time-limited, and the Pro plan includes a documented Public API.
Cons: Pricing is calculated per workspace, which can become expensive for agencies managing many clients. Analytics and Social Inbox require additional fees. The Public API is unavailable on Basic, and some Instagram publishing workflows require mobile notifications or manual completion.
Comparable products include Buffer, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Agorapulse, Loomly, SocialPilot and Later. Buffer is commonly used for streamlined scheduling, while Hootsuite, Sprout Social and Agorapulse provide broader publishing, engagement and reporting suites. Loomly and SocialPilot are closer alternatives for calendar-based collaboration and agency workflows.
