Perplexity Pro

Perplexity Pro is the paid individual subscription for Perplexity, an AI search and answer service developed by Perplexity AI, Inc. It combines web retrieval with language models and displays citations for sourced responses.

The plan adds access to advanced models, extended Pro Search usage, deeper Research workflows, file and image uploads, image generation, limited video generation and Create files and apps capabilities. Availability and quotas can change by plan, region and product rollout.

Perplexity Pro supports browser access, mobile applications and desktop applications for Windows and macOS. The separate Perplexity API Platform provides programmatic access, but API usage and billing aren’t included with the Pro subscription.

Pro Search performs multi-source web research and returns conversational answers with inline citations. Users can continue discussions through contextual follow-up questions.

Subscribers can select supported models from providers including Perplexity, OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, xAI and others. The available model list changes as providers release or retire models.

Research mode performs iterative searches and analysis for longer reports. Create files and apps can produce documents, presentations, spreadsheets, dashboards and simple web applications from natural-language instructions.

File analysis supports uploads such as PDFs, CSV files, audio, video and images. Pro also includes higher upload limits, image generation and limited video generation.

Connectors can link Perplexity with services including Google Drive, Notion, Asana, Jira, Confluence, Gmail, Google Calendar, Outlook.com, Microsoft 365, Teams, Slack, Box, Dropbox, HubSpot, Linear, GitHub, Databricks and Snowflake. Model Context Protocol servers are also supported.

Perplexity Pro costs $20 per month or $200 per year when purchased through the web. The annual option reduces the effective monthly cost compared with monthly billing.

A free Standard plan provides basic searches, limited Pro Searches and limited file uploads. It excludes manual access to advanced models, image generation and premium support.

Perplexity doesn’t advertise one universal always-on trial for every account. Promotional or partner trials may be offered, usually require a valid payment card and can renew automatically after the trial ends unless canceled.

API access uses separate pay-as-you-go credits. A Pro subscription isn’t required for API usage, and the subscription doesn’t include API credits.
